Sports Court Builders in New York
As a sports court builder serving New York, we build for the Northeast climate — and that means planning for freeze-thaw. Through the winter, water works into small cracks, freezes, expands, and widens them, so base preparation, drainage, and frost considerations matter even more here than in warmer markets. We build and resurface tennis, pickleball, basketball, and multi-sport courts for homeowners, HOAs and communities, clubs, and schools across New York City, Long Island, Westchester, and the Hudson Valley, and we advise on the local permitting each municipality requires.
Let’s Talk About Your New York Court
Design, Construction & Resurfacing

Design
We lay out the court to spec and engineer the sub-base and drainage for the Northeast freeze-thaw climate, then set the color and line scheme.

Construction
New courts from the ground up: excavation, base (concrete or asphalt), acrylic or cushioned surfacing, fencing, and lighting. A regulation tennis court runs 60’ × 120’.

Resurfacing
We strip, patch, and recoat worn courts with acrylic systems, fill freeze-thaw cracks, and restore color and grip — the most-needed service in the Northeast.

New York FAQs
Does Sport Surfaces build sports courts in New York?
Yes. We serve New York and the greater NYC metro from our Northeast office in Paramus, NJ, and have designed, built, and resurfaced courts since 1998.
What areas around New York do you serve?
New York City (all five boroughs), Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk), Westchester, Rockland, and the Hudson Valley. Tell us your location and we will confirm we can reach your project.
What does it cost to build or resurface a court in New York?
It depends on the sport, size, surface, and site conditions. Resurfacing costs far less than new construction. We provide a free evaluation and a written, no-obligation estimate.
Do you work with HOAs, clubs, and communities in New York?
Yes. Much of our work is for homeowners, HOAs and communities, clubs, and schools, and we can work with your board or committee approval process and schedule.
Can you convert a tennis court to pickleball in New York?
Yes. Pickleball conversions are one of our most common jobs — we re-stripe or rebuild the surface and can fit multiple pickleball courts into an existing tennis footprint.
What’s the best court surface for New York’s climate?
We build for freeze-thaw: proper base, drainage, and crack repair, with acrylic hard courts, cushioned systems, Har-Tru and clay, and more. We recommend the right surface at the evaluation.
Do I need a permit to build a court in New York?
Most new builds need a local permit, and requirements vary by municipality (setbacks, drainage, fencing, lighting). We advise on permitting as part of the project.
Is the evaluation free?
Yes — a free evaluation and a written, no-obligation estimate for your New York project.
