Paul Gold is the Founder and CEO of Sports Surfaces LLC, one of the most active sports court construction companies in the United States. He began his career at age 16 at Apex Engineering — a forensic engineering firm — where he gained the foundational construction analysis skills that power his expert witness practice today..

After acquiring Budge Tennis, one of the oldest sports construction companies in the world, Paul grew that operation into Sports Surfaces LLC and expanded it to a national footprint. Over 20+ years, he personally oversaw more than 7,000 completed courts across residential, commercial, municipal, and institutional sectors throughout Florida and nationwide.

EXPERT WITNESS FEE SCHEDULE

ENGAGEMENT TERMS

A signed engagement agreement and retainer are required prior to commencement of any services. All work is billed against the retainer. Additional retainers may be required as work progresses.

RETAINER REQUIREMENTS

  • Initial Retainer: $3,000 – $10,000 (depending on case scope)
  • Retainer is non-refundable but applied to billed services
  • Work will pause if retainer is depleted until replenished

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Less than 72 hours notice (depositions, site visits, testimony):
    Full fee charged
  • 72–120 hours notice:
    50% of scheduled fee

PAYMENT TERMS

  • Invoices issued bi-weekly or monthly
  • Payment due within 10 days
  • Late payments subject to 5% monthly interest

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

  • Document preparation for litigation support
  • Coordination with legal teams and opposing experts
